Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Warehouse Operative / Parcel Sorter role at a company based in Woolston, Warrington area.
Duties
- Removing parcels from incoming vehicles or conveyor belts.
- Using handheld scanners to read barcodes and ensuring each parcel has the correct label.
- Separating parcels based on destination, postcode, or delivery route.
- Placing sorted parcels into the correct cages, pallets, or loading bags.
- Loading the sorted parcels onto trucks or containers for transport.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and obstruction-free work area (internal and external) and assisting with other general warehouse tasks as directed by management.
Required Skills & Experience
- Accuracy in sorting mail by destination.
- Ability to manage tasks and maintain a systematic workflow.
- Capacity to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 25kg or more, depending on the role), and push trolleys.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with other sorters and staff.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing mail volumes and methods.
