Were seeking a skilled Production & Development Engineer to join a busy, well-established engineering firm in Rochdale. Working primarily in the workshop (70%) with additional design responsibilities (30%), youll help improve and modify products used across the water industry.
The Role
Youll be involved in hands-on CNC machining (turning and milling) as well as design and development work using Fusion 360. The role covers everything from prototype support and 3D printing to refining existing product lines made from materials such as stainless steel, brass, aluminium, mild steel, and plastic.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set CNC turning/milling machines (Fanuc).
- Modify CAD models and CAM programs in Fusion 360.
- Assist with prototyping and 3D printing.
- Support ongoing product development and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot design and machining issues.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and uphold workshop safety.
About You:
- Proven experience in CNC machining and product development.
- Skilled with Fanuc controls and Fusion 360.
- Familiar with 3D printing and rapid prototyping methods.
- Strong problem-solver with good communication skills.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and workshop safety practices.
Desirable:
- Background in subcontract engineering or water-related products.
- NVQ, HNC, or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
