We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join this dynamic External Service team based at the Head Office in Irthlingborough. Role Objective

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be instrumental in servicing and maintaining a diverse range of personal safety equipment and fixed gas detection systems. Your expertise will ensure compliance, reliability, and user confidence across client sites.

Key Responsibilities Of a Field Service Engineer

  • Service and maintenance of portable gas detectors, SCBA, Escape Breathing apparatus, and fall arrest and lifting equipment.
  • Set up and commissioning of new gas detection systems.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients and identify additional safety equipment needs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction to drive repeat business.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and update the CRM database.
  • Provide vital data for management reporting and support the workshop as needed.

Experience

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years proven engineering experience as a Field Service Engineer or a Static Engineer/Technician, ideally within the safety equipment industry.
  • Background in utilities, engineering, or construction sectors preferred.
  • Knowledge of fixed gas detection systems, SCBA equipment or lifting equipment is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in fault-finding and effective decision-making.
