We are looking for an experienced fee earner to join our Private Client Department. With over 90 years of supporting clients across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire, Freers Askew Bunting is a well‑known and respected law firm. We’ve seen exceptional growth, with offices in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Guisborough and Stokesley, and we have ambitious plans for the future. We’re currently looking to recruit an experienced Fee Earner to join our expanding Private Client Team, working across our Hartlepool and Middlesbrough offices.

About the Role

You’ll manage a varied caseload and provide high‑quality legal support in all areas of private client work, including:

  • Drafting wills and trusts
  • Offering estate planning and inheritance tax advice
  • Administering estates and probate
  • Advising and supporting high‑net‑worth individuals and families

This role offers the opportunity to become a key part of one of our firm’s busiest and most successful departments.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a solicitor or legal executive with:

  • At least 3 years PQE in Private Client law
  • STEP or Lifetime Lawyers accreditation (desirable)
  • Strong technical knowledge and a proactive, organised approach
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to handle complex, sensitive matters independently
