We are recruiting for a new Deputy Editor (Training) to commission and edit new courses and keep our existing training materials up to date, including our range of ebooks. The successful applicant will be responsible for explaining complex concepts in a structured, straightforward way, illustrated by relevant worked examples.

A salary of approximately Β£35,000 (pro rata) will be paid depending on experience. The role is equivalent to three days per week but this is negotiable and the role could be full time if that is what the successful applicant prefers. The job can be self-employed or employed depending on the successful applicant's circumstances. Hours are extremely flexible and the role is a remote working one.

Responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning and editing new courses and training materials
  • Updating existing materials, including ebooks
  • Some writing to update existing materials
  • Robust and imaginative editing to ensure material is clearly written and comprehensible to a lay reader
  • Production of simple audio and video content using straightforward software packages

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand law
  • Experience in immigration law would be a significant advantage
  • Professional legal editing experience or experience as an immigration lawyer with editing and writing experience
