Job ad: immigration advice manager and senior immigration adviser, Settled

Settled has vacancies for two immigration advisers interested in establishing new services for EU citizens in Scotland and North West England.

The deadline for applications to the EU Settlement Scheme has just passed — now the real work begins! Responsibilities include handling late applications, refused applications, family join requests, transitions from ‘pre-settled’ to ‘settled’ status, and issues with proving entitlements. Demand exceeds the capacity of Settled’s 100+ multi-lingual volunteers and small dedicated staff team. Substantial new grant funding enables us to advertise the following positions:

  • Immigration Advice Manager (Scotland): 3 days a week, full-time equivalent (FTE) £34,000 pa. Manage own caseload, oversee a small team of OISC Level 2 volunteers, coordinate with Citizens Rights Project, and collaborate with local providers.
  • Senior Immigration Adviser (North West England): 3 days a week, FTE £32,000 pa. Manage own caseload, oversee volunteers, and collaborate with local providers.

Both roles require proactive, well-organised, resilient individuals capable of providing immigration advice at OISC Level 2, with strong management, collaboration skills, integrity, and sensitivity.

To apply, submit a CV and cover letter via Charity Job. The cover letter should address the requirements outlined in the Person Specification within the Job Description document.

An equal opportunities form can be submitted with your application or sent separately to the email provided on the form.

Settled advocates for the rights of EU citizens in the UK to continue living, working, and reuniting with families lawfully and safely, supporting their wellbeing and reducing risks associated with unlawful or unwelcome status following the UK’s departure from the EU.

The Free Movement blog, founded in 2007 by Colin Yeo, a barrister at Garden Court Chambers, offers updates and commentary on immigration and asylum law by various authors.
