Our client is a bank based in Central London looking for a Database Engineer with solid experience in MS SQL Server and SSIS. The role involves developing and delivering new systems to automate and streamline processes across departments, supporting the internal IT department with software platform changes and upgrades, and serving as the primary contact for all technical questions regarding in‑house bespoke systems and interfacing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver new systems to automate and streamline processes for various departments.
  • Support the internal IT team with software platform changes and upgrades.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for in‑house bespoke systems and interfacing.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning processes for the Finance department, including loading and refreshing data.
  • Conduct front‑end functionality to amend and change hierarchical structures within the environment.
  • Debug and analyze errors and anomalies within Hyperion systems, pinpoint failure areas and correct issues.
  • Liaise with Finance daily to ensure smooth operation of the Hyperion environment.
  • Build data flows within the SQL environment using SSIS packages.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and the bank’s risk and compliance policies to prevent exposure to risk.
  • Report policy, procedure, or potential non‑compliance breaches promptly and execute all controls to minimize risk.
  • Identify new risks or control gaps and escalate accordingly to line management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree level qualified or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with MS SQL Server and SSIS.
  • Solid experience building data warehouses and developing with C# .NET.
  • Knowledge of SSRS reporting and SSAS.
  • Understanding of data warehouse design concepts (Inmon or Kimball).

Benefits & Other Information

This is a 12‑month FTC position with a salary around £55,000–£70,000. Candidates are required to work from the office at least three days per week.
