This role focuses on supporting nurseries and early years settings across Surrey through the STEPS program (Supporting Targeted Education & Play Skills).• Work closely with families and nursery/pre-school staff to advise them on how to meet the needs of autistic children and related difficulties.• Observe children in their settings, provide feedback and model best practice strategies.• Conduct home visits and create tailored resources to support learning and development.• Deliver training sessions to nursery staff, sharing practical strategies and building confidence in supporting autistic children.• Write concise reports summarising visits and suggesting suitable strategies for families and settings.• Strong knowledge of specialist strategies to support autistic pupils.• Experience working in early years settings or specialist classrooms.• Excellent written English and confidence using a laptop.• A full driving licence and reliable car (travel across Surrey required; mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile).The details* Hours: Term time only, 36 hours per week (work pattern negotiable)* Salary: Surrey Pay Grade PS6 £26,365 – £28,275 pro-rata (£30,647 – £32,867 FTE) – The percentage increase for the Surrey Pay Award has not yet been confirmed; however, any agreed award will take effect from 1 April 2026 and will be backdated as appropriate.At Freemantles, you will be part of a supportive, expert team making a real difference in the lives of young people and their educators.
