Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Facilities Engineer? We have a great opportunity for you to join us in a full-time position at our Listerhills warehouse.
Role Accountabilities
- Achieve best value for money consistent with agreed standards and act at all times in the best interests of the company.
- Assist in the implementation of projects funded from the capital and exceptional maintenance budgets.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules on plant and equipment.
- Efficiently manage breakdowns to minimise production losses and deal with emergency situations quickly and effectively.
- Ensure that a high level of general housekeeping is achieved in all areas.
- Implement Maintenance & Asset Improvement Programme.
- Maximise energy savings and sustain and develop the Continuous Improvement culture.
- Repair and install electrical and mechanical plant and services in accordance with good practice and current regulations and within defined timescales.
- Maintain critical parts - minimum stock levels maintained. Parts booked out and restock requirements identified and team leader advised with appropriate priority.
- To be proficient in the diagnosis of faults and carry out repairs quickly and efficiently.
- To carry out first line repairs and fault diagnosis on baling and compacting equipment and roller shutter doors and other equipment.
- To carry out first line repairs and fault diagnosis on heating and DHW services and equipment.
- To carry out portable appliance testing and testing and repair of emergency lighting, fixed wire installations and generation and UPS plant.
- To carry out repairs and maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning plant (excluding the refrigeration component).
- To carry out sprinkler system testing and maintenance and repair of sprinklers and associated equipment.
- To keep internal customers informed at all times of work in progress and maintain good relations.
- To participate in the standby and call out rota and promptly respond to call outs if contacted out of hours by security. Attend 100% of callouts if on standby cover.
- To safely isolate electrical supplies and reinstate, implement and adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Undertake basic fault finding on electrical equipment and replace motors, starters, overloads, contactors, etc.
- To sign in and sign out with start and finish times every day in the Facilities Department Workshop Log Book.
- To be aware of and abide by staff briefings, risk assessments, safe working practices and company procedures.
- To understand operation of electrical test equipment including multimeter and continuity tester.
- To undertake first line response to roller shutter door breakdowns, carry out ppm and make safe when appropriate.
- To undertake first response to fire alarms.
- To undertake such other duties as the company may reasonably require.
- To undertake training as necessary to maintain the qualifications relevant to the role.
- To undertake working across different sites as dictated by the needs of the business.
- To work such shift patterns and overtime as are necessary to support business needs.
- Undertake legionella testing in accordance with approved code of practice.
Essential
- Recognised apprenticeship in electrical and/or Mechanical engineering.
- Extensive experience in installation, fault finding and repair of electrical equipment in an industrial environment, especially involving mechanical handling equipment, generating plant and UPS systems, sprinkler plant and ventilation / air conditioning systems.
- Experienced in mechanical maintenance and repair of materials handling equipment, ventilation and air conditioning plant, sprinkler systems and baling / compacting machinery.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety. All company procedures, site rules, risk assessments and safe working practices complied with.
- Statutory compliance for all plant and equipment on the site achieved and maintained.
- Maximise energy savings through appropriate use of the BMS and seize every opportunity to make energy savings.
- Experienced in pneumatics and hydraulics and the maintenance and repair of baling / compacting machinery.
- City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical engineering (Course th Edition) or equivalent.
- Qualified to current edition of the I.E.E. Regulations.
- Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
- City and Guilds Level 2 in mechanical engineering.
- City and Guilds Level 3 Inspection & Testing (Course 2391) or equivalent.
