About the Role

To act as a conduit between the business and Technology, ensuring aligned priorities, clear communication and effective collaboration across all business functions. The Project Manager translates business needs into actionable delivery outcomes and leads projects from initiation to closure, delivering customer‑focused and commercially sound solutions within agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

Accountabilities

  • Solution Delivery: Deliver projects spanning digital, operational, customer, and Technology change to build a well‑rounded understanding of business and technical contexts. Balance structure and pragmatism, applying the right level of governance depending on project size, complexity and risk, whilst adhering to agreed FGH standards, guidelines and processes. Ensure technical requirements are clearly articulated in business language, helping stakeholders understand impacts, dependencies and priorities. Lead, or contribute to the initial definition and impact assessment and estimation of project concepts and ideas.
  • Business Analysis: Working closely with a team of stakeholders, to facilitate business design activities including business requirements gathering and definition of As-Is and To-Be processes. Work with Technology teams to understand technical designs, constraints and implications, translating them into clear business requirements, options and priorities. Support the business in validating whether proposed solutions meet commercial, operational and customer needs.
  • Relationship Management: Build strong, trusting relationships across all business functions (e‑commerce, retail ops, supply chain, finance, trading, marketing etc.) ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Encourage collaboration between technical and non‑technical teams, promoting shared ownership of delivery. Bring energy and enthusiasm to stakeholder interactions, role‑modelling a positive approach to problem solving and delivery. Manage third party suppliers ensuring a quality, value for money service and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Financial Management: Have sound financial acumen and understand how to work with stakeholders and Finance to create complete business cases. Used to having control of a budget, tracking costs and monitoring the financial health of a project.
  • Personal: Maintain a good awareness of general Project Management trends & developments. Able to work at pace and juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable at working with ambiguity and finding solutions to enable project momentum in challenging circumstances. Manage and motivate project teams ensuring effective performance management, training and coaching. Contribute to the overall management of the function; in a collaborative manner, accepting additional responsibility for specific management activities or leading “ad hoc” management tasks. Demonstrate creativity and curiosity in solving problems, proactively bringing new ideas and alternative approaches to unblock progress. Continually look for ways to improve the effectiveness of project delivery and team working practices. Apply judgement to balance structured project methodology with a flexible, pragmatic approach that suits the context.

Maintain consistent, accurate plans covering schedule, cost and resource, providing timely progress and performance reporting. Encourage continuous improvement in delivery practices, championing tools, templates, standards and ways of working that improve outcomes and efficiency. Champion the use of both agile or waterfall. About You

  • Proven experience delivering both Technology‑led and business‑led projects, ideally within a retail or fast‑paced commercial environment.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into business‑focused outcomes, options and decisions.
  • Pragmatic approach to delivery, applying structure where required but flexible enough to adapt to changing priorities or constraints.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to bring teams together and inspire collective ownership of delivery.
  • Creative and pragmatic problem solver, able to simplify complex issues and propose workable solutions.
  • Confident working in environments with ambiguity, making informed recommendations based on data, stakeholder input and commercial understanding.

Communication & Leadership

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively at all levels, both internally and with 3rd parties.
  • Management of cross-functional, multi‑disciplined personnel (matrix), displaying leadership, motivational and coaching skills.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to change, encouraging innovation and presenting change positively.
  • Strategic thinking skills, able to place Transformation activity in an organisational context.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong planning, analytical and reporting skills, able to assimilate complex information and present recommendations.
  • Awareness of business analysis best practises.
  • Confident and proficient in the application of structured project management methods, tools and techniques with a recognised PM qualification such as APMG Agile PM, APM Project Management, Prince 2.
  • Practical experience across Project & Software Development Lifecycles (Agile/Hybrid/Waterfall) and associated tools; techniques; methods.
  • Broad awareness of Project Management and general Information Technology capabilities concepts and trends.
  • Experience working as part of a cross‑functional team delivering complex change involving both Technology and business processes.
  • Naturally collaborative and supportive team player, bringing energy, positivity and a proactive mindset.
  • Creative thinker able to explore alternative options and find practical solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong communicator who can influence across all levels, from technical specialists to senior stakeholders.
  • Structured, organised and detail‑oriented, with the ability to prioritise effectively and remain pragmatic under pressure.
  • Able to commute to Bradford city centre 2+ days per week.
  • Work additional hours to ensure projects completed on time.
