The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Location: Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire

Contract Type: Temporary (Event-Based)

Dates: 2nd – 5th July

Pay: £16 - £20ph depending on experience and bar size.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, high-energy Festival Bar Manager to lead bar operations during one of the biggest motorsport events in the world. This is a fast-paced, large-scale environment where strong leadership, organisation, and a calm approach under pressure are essential. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience, managing large bar teams, and ensuring smooth, compliant, and profitable operations throughout the event. Please note: Due to the nature of the event, you will be required to stay on-site for the duration. Accommodation will be provided in staff caravans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage bar operations across your allocated area or venue
  • Brief, and supervise bar supervisors and staff teams
  • Ensure efficient service delivery during peak trading periods
  • Manage stock control and wastage prevention
  • Monitor licensing compliance, Challenge 25, and health & safety standards
  • Handle escalations, incidents, and customer service issues professionally
  • Coordinate with event operations, logistics, and senior management teams
  • Deliver daily briefings and performance feedback to staff
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and reporting procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who thrives in live event environments and enjoys leading large teams. You are proactive, resilient, and capable of making quick decisions under pressure. You thrive in high-energy environments and can motivate staff to deliver excellent service, even during peak trading periods.

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing bars at festivals, stadiums, or major events
  • Strong leadership and team management skills (50+ staff preferred)
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Personal licence holder (preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of licensing laws and health & safety requirements
  • Ability to work long hours in a high-pressure environment
  • Confident communicator with a proactive mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience in motorsport or large sporting events
  • Stock management and EPOS system experience
  • First aid qualification
  • Experience coaching or mentoring staff for leadership development
  • Knowledge of festival or event-specific workflows, including hospitality zones, VIP areas, and outdoor bars

Additional Opportunities

We are also recruiting for a Seasonal Bar Manager position based at Silverstone for the full motorsport and events season. This role would suit someone local to the Silverstone/Northamptonshire area due to the longer-term commitment. In contrast, Formula 1 Festival Bar Manager applicants can be based anywhere in the UK, as accommodation is provided on-site during the event. If you are interested in either the event-based F1 role or the full-season opportunity, please indicate this in your application.
