Help for Heroes is looking for a Digital Content Creator to join their team.

Overview:

  • Full-time position

  • Location: UK (Remote); occasional travel to Downton, Salisbury

Job Description

This is more than a digital content role – it’s a chance to tell stories that matter.

You’ll create engaging digital assets. From social posts and graphics to short-form videos and motion graphics – amplifying our voice and impact across web, email, and social media. You’ll work across teams including Brand, Fundraising and Recovery, producing content that inspires supporters and empowers our Armed Forces Community.

You’ll collaborate closely with our Senior Graphic Designer, Creative Artworker, Videographer, Social Media Leads, and the wider Content team. Together, we’ll make sure our creative output is bold, consistent and full of heart.

Responsibilities

Planning

  • Understand our audience insight and channels (paid, owned and earned) to plan digital content that engages our audiences and meets the campaign objectives
  • Understand the objectives of our projects and plan content to help meet those objectives
  • Collaborate and brainstorm ideas with the Design Studio, social media team, Copywriters, Videographer and internal clients
  • Be across all latest social media trends and innovations
  • Maintain awareness of editorial calendars and scheduled posts to increase visibility

Production

  • Create engaging and visually appealing content for social media platforms, this will include video/animations, imagery and copy
  • Develop assets and posts to appeal to target audiences which is tailored to each channel
  • Produce live and quick turnaround content to showcase our services and fundraising campaigns
  • Establish and implement content strategies for driving and increasing online traffic
  • Ensure online content complies with the Charity’s brand guidelines, tone of voice
  • Ensure content is high quality and meets industry and advertising standards
  • Ensure we have consent from those we capture and showcase
  • Work closely with other supporting colleagues to ensure effectiveness and success of activity e.g. MarComms, Fundraising, Insights, Finance, Recovery, Legal etc

Monitoring

  • Measure and monitor key performance indicators to understand what content works well for our audiences
  • Monitor our sector and UK brands to understand what content works and what content doesn’t

Role Requirements

Essential:

  • GCSEs and A-Levels in a related field (art, design, marketing, film studies, business studies etc)
  • A minimum 2 years working in similar positions (Graphic Designer, Social Media Assistant, etc)
  • Experience creating posts, visuals, and videos for social media
  • Understanding of social media principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc
  • Exceptional and innovative design and creative skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Organisation and time management
  • Good attention to detail and proofing experience

Desirable:

  • Professional marketing qualification
  • Experience of brand marketing
  • Ability to work both with and without agency support
  • Familiarity of working closely with PR/Comms
  • Ability to tailor marketing to needs of different audiences
  • Animation and videography experience
