Job Description
The role of Celebrity and Influencer Relationship Manager is pivotal in helping to deliver our Brand & Marketing 10 year vision which supports the overall organisational goals of enhancing cat welfare and increasing our impact, supporting volunteering to become an exemplary voluntary organisation, deepening our engagement with customers and supporters, and enabling vital income generation activity to support financial sustainability.

Acting as the lead contact for all of our celebrities and influencers, this role is responsible for both defining our strategy in this channel and delivering this to reach and engage with both new and existing audiences, leveraging those of selected celebrities. The role works cross organisationally to support teams with celebrity support to drive awareness of and engagement with different areas of our work and products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on the development and implementation of a celebrity and influencer strategy to help drive engagement with new and existing audiences.
- Research and target appropriate influencers and high-profile individuals with whom to foster an impactful relationship, developing a roster of talent who have an affiliation with our cause.
- Offer expert insight into appropriate audience targeting and brand management, with additional emphasis on identifying diverse and cultural leads to support our ongoing diversity work.
- To audit and maintain existing productive celebrity/influencer relationships within Media/Social/High Value/Events/Streaming and Advocacy teams and to manage future needs and expectations in order to increase awareness of Cats Protection among new and target audiences.
- To work closely with Income Generation colleagues to help identify, research and work collaboratively on opportunities with cat-loving celebrities and influencers to ensure maximum value (financial and non-financial) to the charity.
- To create collaborative relationships with Cats Protection departments so needs for celebrity and influencer involvement are managed and prioritised successfully, including managing expectations where necessary so only suitable approaches are taken forward.
- To undertake effective relationship planning that creates meaningful opportunities and, where appropriate, long-lasting associations between Cats Protection and celebrities/influencers.
- Manage ongoing communications with our roster ensuring they are up to date, well informed, engaged and passionate about the work of Cats Protection.
- To pitch appropriate campaigns and projects to celebrities and influencers to secure their support and to be responsible for producing and distributing online and offline promotional material.
- To be proactive in monitoring current events and trends involving celebrities, particularly tracking which celebrities are speaking out about their cat/s and establishing contact when appropriate.
Other:
- To effectively respond to journalist enquiries that relate to our celebrity work and to proactively develop relationships with target journalists, as well as advising the media team when handling general celebrity and influencer-related media queries.
- Collaborate closely with the National Media Manager to work in partnership on specific campaigns and activities.
- Working with the Media team, prepare any celebrities and influencers for media interviews providing them with full pre and post briefings so they have the full knowledge to represent Cats Protection.
- To manage and, where appropriate, alert the National Media Manager to any potential reputation issues that may arise as a result of the charity’s celebrity or influencer relationships and effectively manage and respond to those issues as appropriate.
- To be responsible for the management of the charity’s celebrity database, ensuring that research, contact processes and data are relevant, up-to-date and GDPR compliant at all times.
- Lead and develop the charity podcast, Cats got your tongue, recruiting talent and liaising with the production company and internal teams.
- To attend networking events and opportunities so relevant external and internal contacts can be nurtured.
- Manage site visits, tours and photoshoots for celebrities and influencers as needed across the charity’s network of cat centres, shops and branches, ensuring opportunities are identified and maximised to support our work.
- Ensure all campaigns are thoroughly evaluated for future learnings.
- To monitor, evaluate and report on the level of celebrity support and the financial impact this has for Cats Protection.
- Responsible for the planning and management of the celebrity and influencer budget and departmental planning processes.
- Role model Cats Protection’s behaviours.
- Be an ambassador for Cats Protection at external meetings and events.
Role Requirements:
Experience:
- Experience of developing and executing a celebrity and influencer strategy ideally in the charity sector with demonstrable relationships with both up and coming and established influential voices.
- Experience of nurturing relationships to drive high impact and maximum value for the organisation and to build lasting and meaningful connections.
- Experience of working closely with media teams to brief celebrities for interviews representing the charities work.
Skills and attributes:
- Ability to identify appropriate and then develop and nurture deep and impactful relationships with celebrities and influencers.
- Able to lead on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self starter.
- Confident communicator (verbal and written).
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

- Knowledge of the charity sector.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car and flexible to travel when required.
