ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a crucial performance-based editing role where you’ll be creating high-converting short-form and long-form video ads for Meta, AppLovin and other Direct Response sales channels. We are looking for a truly dynamic individual, who can help us scale our brand to the next level. Down the line, we’re looking for someone who can own their responsibilities and get promoted in the future to the role of Director of the Video Editing Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit short-form ecommerce video ads as well as medium to long-form direct-response VSL ads (3-5+ minutes).
- Understand how important it is to choose the RIGHT b-rolls, in order to 'manipulate' the viewer to watch the video and help him/her understand easier what we’re trying to communicate through the script.
- Leverage AI in your video editing (creating b-rolls, animations or spokespersons). We’ll provide you the guidance on how to do this.
- Ensure all videos meet high-quality standards and are delivered on time.
- Cut, arrange, and edit raw footage into engaging, high-converting ads and VSLs.
- Select the best hooks, transitions, and pacing to capture attention within the first 3 seconds.
- Add burned-in subtitles, motion graphics, and overlays to maximise engagement.
- NON-NEGOTIABLE: Stay up to date with top-performing ad trends to ensure content remains fresh, relevant, and high-performing.
- Communicate with other editors, in order to help each other achieve the best results.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years of experience as an Ecommerce Video Editor, proficiency in video editing software (for example, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects or Final Cut Pro) and tools are required (a portfolio showcasing previous work is a must).
- Excellent command of English.
- Understanding key editing elements like pacing, visual flow, subtitles, and retention strategies.
- Creative & Disciplined mindset, willing to constantly optimize your Direct Response knowledge, striving to create the best ads in the world.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for storytelling.
- Understanding the market you’re selling to - how do those people look, what do they want, what are their desired outcomes etc.
- Ability to work FAST and meet deadlines, without compromising quality.
- Attention to detail with branding, grammar, and formatting.
- Excellent communication and ability to work in async, remote teams.
- Strong project management, version control, and file organization.
