I want to get some advice from a UK accountant. I want to know more about how individuals can accept things for doing work other than just for money.

Question 1: Some jobs in hotels offer free accommodation to PAYE employees as part of the job. How does this work in relation to tax liability for the employee and the employer? If the employee was not getting free accommodation to live in, they would probably be getting paid a higher wage which could mean both the employee and the employer may be liable to pay more taxes via national insurance and income tax.

The other example would be when someone is self-employed and is working with a paying client. The self-employed person submits invoices which the client pays, and the client also offers free hospitality, for example, a trip on a boat and a meal. How does this work in relation to tax law? Does this create any extra tax liability for the self-employed person or the client?

You would submit written answers to the 2 questions above.

Contract duration of less than 1 month.

Mandatory skills: Accounting, Tax Preparation, Tax Law
