We are Fitness Superstore and French Fitness, a major U.S. retailer of commercial and home gym equipment. We handle our own parts, service, troubleshooting, and warehouse operations. We are hiring a Technical Troubleshooting & Warehouse/Parts Support Specialist who can troubleshoot equipment issues with customers over email/chat, communicate with our warehouse for testing and verification, and coordinate parts ordering with our parts manager. This is NOT a general customer service role. This is a technical position requiring mechanical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to explain troubleshooting steps clearly to customers and warehouse staff.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Troubleshoot fitness equipment issues remotely with customers using photos, videos, chat, email, or phone
- Identify likely root causes involving belts, motors, cables, pulleys, sensors, consoles, electronics, weight stacks, and assembly issues
- Work directly with the warehouse manager (Tomas) to test equipment, verify issues, perform troubleshooting steps, and confirm correct parts
- Communicate directly with parts manager (Gonzalo) to request parts, verify SKU numbers, check inventory, and confirm shipment
- Collaborate with customers to gather proper photos/videos, walk them through basic troubleshooting, and prepare information for warehouse review
- Log all findings and updates into Google Sheets and internal logs
- Track each case from initial troubleshooting to warehouse verification to parts ordering and closure
- Respond to customer service tickets professionally and clearly when related to equipment troubleshooting or parts requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams using chat systems, email, and shared spreadsheets
- Provide clear summaries, technical notes, and follow-up steps for each issue
DELIVERABLES
- Accurate troubleshooting assessments for each case
- Verified parts requests with correct SKU identification
- Clear communication threads with warehouse and parts department
- Complete documentation for each customer issue
- On-time follow-up with customers until resolution
- Consistent Google Sheet updates for tracking issues, parts, and warehouse actions
REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical or electromechanical troubleshooting experience REQUIRED (fitness equipment, appliances, HVAC, electric motors, automotive, or similar)
- Ability to explain technical steps clearly to customers via chat/email
- Comfort reviewing photos/videos to diagnose mechanical or electrical issues
- Experience coordinating with warehouse or field technicians
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Detail-oriented and able to follow cases from start to finish
- Google Sheets experience preferred
- Ability to work 8AM–5PM PST (at least 4–6 hours overlap)
- Fast learner and able to work with minimal supervision
Contract duration of more than 6 months, with 40 hours per week.
