We are looking for a Shopify speed optimization specialist to help make our site feel buttery smooth and near zero-lag, similar to best-in-class ecommerce brands like Apple or Nike. Our site is functional but currently slower than we would like. Your role is to identify and improve performance bottlenecks across page load speed, JavaScript execution, assets, and third-party scripts. This is not a redesign. The focus is strictly on speed, responsiveness, and perceived performance.
We already have an in-house developer actively working on the site. You will need to collaborate without overstepping, reviewing existing code, flagging optimization opportunities, and coordinating changes in a way that avoids conflicts. Your responsibility is to point out and implement (or guide implementation of) speed improvements only.
Contract duration of 3 to 6 months with 10 hours per week.
