I'm Ed, founder of Green Dog (UK), a premium handmade dog accessories brand. I want to rebuild my Shopify store from the current Sense theme into Shopify's Horizon theme and significantly improve conversion rate, AOV, and overall brand trust. This is not a "copy my site into a new theme" task. I'm looking for someone who works like a top agency: research, strategy, UX/UI, implementation, and iteration.
Goals
- Migrate from Sense to Horizon with a cleaner, more premium look and better usability
- Improve CRO across homepage, collection pages, and product pages
- Increase AOV via bundles, upsells, and smarter product architecture (without feeling gimmicky)
- Strengthen trust: clarity, reassurance, proof, policies, delivery expectations, and craftsmanship story
- Build a reusable system so future products/pages stay consistent
Visual direction (references)
- A modern, confident premium feel
- A clean, customisable-product structure
- Competitor reference (not ideal but relevant category)
Scope (Phase 1 MVP)
- Discovery + CRO audit
- Quick audit of current store: key drop-off points, friction, messaging clarity, navigation, mobile experience
- Review of analytics insights (Shopify/Klaviyo/GA if needed)
- Competitor/benchmark notes and recommended structure
- Information architecture + UX plan
- Proposed site structure (homepage flow, menus, collections, product categorisation)
- Recommendations for bundles and AOV drivers (bundle types, placement, offer logic)
Design + build in Horizon theme
- Implement a new homepage, one collection template, and one product template
- Keep build lightweight, fast, and mobile-first
- Use a consistent design system (type scale, spacing, buttons, sections)
CRO implementation details
- Strong hero and CTA hierarchy
- Clear "what this is / why it's worth it / how it works" above the fold
- Better product option UX for customisable products
- Trust modules: reviews, shipping/making time, durability, FAQs, guarantees, returns
- Smarter cross-sells: "complete the set", matching leads/collars, accessories
- Bundles: "bundle & save" with clean UX and no spammy vibe
Deliverables
- Horizon theme setup with:
- New homepage
- 1 collection template
- 1 product page template (built to expand to other PDPs)
- Navigation + key sections configured
- A documented "system" so I can keep building pages consistently
- A short CRO roadmap for Phase 2 (what to test next, priority order)
Requirements (must have)
- Proven Shopify builds with conversion-focused UX/UI
- Experience improving AOV (bundles, upsell, cross-sell) in a premium way
- Strong front-end skills (Liquid, sections, JS) and performance awareness
- Able to show real examples with measurable outcomes or clear CRO rationale
- Comfortable working with a founder: direct, fast feedback, high standards
Nice to have
- Experience with Shopify native bundles / bundle apps that don't slow the site
- Experience designing for premium brands (luxury, craft, heritage)
- Strong copy and on-page messaging instincts (not fluffy, not salesy)
To apply (important)
- Links to 2–3 Shopify stores you built or significantly improved (what you did and why)
- One example where you improved conversion rate or AOV, and how (even if anonymised)
- Your recommended bundle approach for a premium handmade accessories brand
- Your plan for Phase 1: timeline, process, and what you need from me
Budget: I'm looking for agency-level quality and I'm happy to pay for the right person. Contract duration of 1 to 3 months, with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Shopify Theme Development, UX/UI Design, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), Ecommerce Website Design, Web Performance Optimization, Landing Page Design, Shopify, Liquid, JavaScript, Shopify Templates.
