I'm looking for an experienced self-storage architect or space planner to design a high-efficiency layout for a 6,000 sq ft commercial space in North West England (UK). The space is on the first floor of an existing building and will be internal storage units only, focused on lightweight storage for nearby restaurants and residential customers.
Goal: maximise net rentable area while keeping the layout operationally practical and compliant.
Scope
- Feasibility review of existing plan
- 2–3 layout options focused on yield + usability
- Unit size mix for local demand (restaurants + residents)
- Corridor planning, trolley movement, loading approach
- Concept-level compliance thinking (fire, access, safety)
- Final dimensioned layout + unit schedule + efficiency %

- Concept layout options (PDF)
- Final dimensioned plan
- Unit schedule (sizes, sq ft, totals)
- Editable AutoCAD/Revit file + contractor-ready PDFs
