I am an individual investor evaluating a potential small business acquisition and am seeking a Patent Attorney for buy-side due diligence on a specialty ink manufacturer. The target's value relies on proprietary formulas and a specific "method of use" patent.
Objective: Determine if competitors can circumvent the patent using alternative chemicals and evaluate the IP's strength against new EU/REACH regulations.
Scope:
- Vulnerability Audit: Identify "workaround" risks in U.S./International patents.
- Competitor Analysis: Evaluate if a specific competitor's formula likely infringes or successfully bypasses the target's IP.
- Freedom to Operate: Check if reformulated "compliant" products infringe on third parties.
- Advisory: Provide a memo on moat strength and deal-structure recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Patent Attorney (USPTO).

- Experience in M&A due diligence or litigation.
