I'm Hrushikesh. I'm trying to create a video game which needs 2D character design. It's a social simulator type game where the player plays the doorman/host at a jazz club set in 1940s Calcutta (now Kolkata). The player will see different characters appear on the screen where he scans IDs, items in their bags and talks to them, leading to storylines emerging from the conversations.
I am still figuring out the art style, but it has to be distinctly Indian looking, maybe inspired by Amar Chitra Katha and the old matchboxes with vivid and striking patterns, but I am open to suggestions of different styles.
I would love to see what you can create for the following character:
- Mrs Mukherjee - a 27-28 year old Indian Bengali woman who belongs to a rich family in the 1940s. She is vivacious, pretty and very charming. She also cheats on her husband in the game.
I have 7-8 more characters, but we'll figure that out later. I can pay INR 1000 rupees for a character. I am operating on a tight budget and need to see work of a few artists before I decide on one, hence the price. I don't need backgrounds, just the character. I generated a few pictures from AI, but I don't want to use AI for art and music in my game; I'm keen to see what art style you think will make sense.
Contract duration of less than 1 month, with 30 hours per week.
