Hyperpop Music Video Editor

1. CONTEXT
We\’ve already filmed and received an initial edit of the Bitter music video.
The issue:
– The framing and shots feel a bit amateur
– Performance shots feel too wide and not intense enough
– Some sections drag and feel slow
– It doesn\’t fully capture the chaos and internal dysregulation the song represents
Originally this was intended to feel cinematic.
But due to the footage not fully achieving that level, I now want this edit to lean into something more chaotic, raw, and creatively aggressive rather than all polished cinematic.
I take a lot of inspiration from artists like Aries and Brakence.
There\’s edits are Fast, chaotic hyperpop editing, glitchy, fragmented and overstimulating.
This should feel intentional — not messy by accident.

2. CORE EMOTIONAL GOAL
The video should feel like:
– Overstimulated
– Dysregulated
– Claustrophobic
– Fragmented
– Visually anxious
– But still beautiful in moments
3. EDITING STYLE DIRECTION
The current cut feels slow in sections. And armature.
I want:
– More fast cuts
– Upclose, intense scenes
– Harder rhythmic editing
– Sharp transitions on drums + vocal emphasis
– More micro-cuts during intense sections
– Fewer long, lingering wide shots
If a shot feels too slow — cut it.
4. FRAMING FIXES
– Punch in digitally
– Add digital zooms
– Reframe to create intensity
– Use push-ins to add urgency
Even if resolution drops slightly, that\’s fine.
Particularly:
– Close up eyes
– Mouth during performance
– Hands
– Pill in mouth scene
We need more intimacy and less distance.
5. CHAOS TECHNIQUES
Inspired by Aries & brakence:
– Speed ramping (micro moments)
– Sudden freezes
– Jump cuts
– Glitch cuts
– Frame skipping
– Stutter edits
– Slight desync moments
– Sudden silence hits
– Micro zoom punches on snare hits
– Layered fast overlays
But not overdone to meme-level.
It should feel controlled-chaos.

6. SHOT I LOVE
– Pill in mouth shot
– Black pill imagery
– Spinning around the preformer in the bridge
– Forest spirals looking up at trees (lost feeling)
– Straight jacket hanging on branch
– up close struggles
7. TIMELINE
I need a final music video edit by the end of next week.
Contract duration of less than 1 month. with 30 hours per week.
