The predicted salary is between 500 - 1500 £ per month.
We are adapting existing Japanese manga covers into Arabic editions for publication in the MENA region under an established international publishing brand, and we are looking for a designer who understands structured publishing production rather than creative reinvention. The original layered artwork files (PSD/AI) will be provided in full; no illustration or redesign of artwork is required.
The role involves:
- Professionally replacing original text with approved Arabic translations
- Adapting title and logo placement for right-to-left reading
- Carefully balancing Arabic typography within the existing visual hierarchy
- Adjusting the spine layout
- Formatting the back cover with provided Arabic synopsis and publishing metadata
- Delivering fully print-ready files (CMYK, correct bleed and trim specifications) along with organized working files
In addition to cover adaptation (front, back, and spine), we may also require layout of select interior front and back matter pages such as the credits page, copyright page, and promotional/ads pages; please indicate your rate per page or flat rate per volume for these elements. Arabic logo recreation may also be required depending on the title, and this will be treated as a separate milestone quoted independently based on complexity.
This is layout adaptation work within a defined brand system, and we are looking for someone detail-oriented, experienced in editorial or book design, comfortable with Arabic RTL standards and professional print workflows, and capable of maintaining consistency across multiple volumes as we scale.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
