Project Overview:
We are building an AI-powered executive intelligence and meeting-prep system that integrates:
- People enrichment APIs (identity and canonical fields)
- Google Calendar and Gmail ingestion
- Visibility sweep engines (TED, keynote, podcast discovery)
- Evidence graph modeling
- LLM-based dossier synthesis
- Entity disambiguation and scoring logic
The system is functional but needs architectural hardening and production-level reliability improvements. We are looking for a strong backend engineer to take ownership of stabilizing and improving core pipelines.
Project Scope:
This is not a research or prompt-writing task. This is a systems engineering project.
Key deliverables:
- Identity and Enrichment Stabilization
- Ensure enrichment (PDL or similar) properly feeds canonical fields
- Improve entity lock scoring logic
- Eliminate 0/100 lock edge cases
- Add clear scoring transparency
- Ensure deterministic SerpAPI execution
- Persist retrieval ledger rows
- Guarantee sweep execution before gating
- Improve visibility confidence scoring
- Ensure migrations are actually applied in production
- Implement safe schema evolution patterns
- Eliminate column-missing runtime errors
- Enforce proper stage ordering (retrieval β evidence β synthesis β QA)
- Remove premature fail-closed logic
- Improve error reporting and debugging endpoints
- Add debug endpoints for enrichment and sweep execution
- Improve logging around rate limits and API failures
- Add system health diagnostics
Definition of Done:
- Deep research executes reliably
- Retrieval ledger rows persist and are visible
- Entity lock reflects enrichment data correctly
- No regression of profile photos
- Calendar-based enrichment works consistently
- Migrations apply cleanly in production
Tech Stack:
- Python backend (FastAPI + SQLAlchemy)
- PostgreSQL
- Railway deployment
- SerpAPI
- People Data Labs
- LLM-based synthesis layer
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong backend systems engineer
- Experience with API orchestration and rate limiting
- Comfortable working with SQLAlchemy and migrations
- Strong debugging instincts
- Experience with LLM-based systems is a plus
- Comfortable working independently with high ownership
Why This Is Interesting:
You will be working on a non-trivial AI orchestration system that blends deterministic data pipelines, identity resolution, retrieval systems, evidence modeling, and generative synthesis. This is a real architecture problem, not a cosmetic AI wrapper.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months, with 30 hours per week.
