I am looking for an experienced China-based sourcing specialist to help me identify and negotiate with manufacturers for a washable rug cover product for the U.S. market. This is NOT a basic Alibaba outreach task. I need someone who understands textile production and can evaluate real factory capabilities.
Product Overview:
- Washable rug covers (not full rugs)
- Velvet or short-pile fabric (200–230 GSM preferred)
- Optional thin foam laminated backing or single-layer high-GSM fabric
- Clean sewn edges (flat, durable finish)
- Sizes: 5×7 ft, 6×9 ft, 8×10 ft
- Must support true U.S. sizing (not standard Chinese/Turkish sizes)
- Low MOQ per size per design preferred (for initial testing)
- Must be suitable for DTC brand positioning
Scope of Work:
- Identify 5–10 qualified manufacturers in China (not trading companies unless verified)
- Confirm factory capability for large format production (8×10 ft and larger)
- Confirm MOQ structure (per size and per design)
- Negotiate FOB pricing aligned with target retail positioning
- Confirm backing options and material specifications
- Collect sample pricing and lead times
- Verify OEKO-TEX or relevant certifications (if available)
- Provide a comparison sheet with pros/cons for each supplier
Ideal Candidate:
- Located in China
- Experience sourcing textiles or home decor products
- Able to verify real manufacturing facilities
- Strong negotiation skills
