Our company Aaki manufactures a product called a fleXmount bracket. The bracket comes in various lengths and is designed to attach a product to the face of an electric motor. The bracket can be bent and configured to fit the motor properly. Currently, we have a spreadsheet that helps determine where and how much to bend the bracket for proper fitting. The user enters certain values in the spreadsheet, which calculates the best bracket to use for the application and provides information on where to bend the bracket and by how much.
The project is twofold:
- Create a web-based application that can be added to our Shopify store, performing the same functions as the spreadsheet. This includes taking in user information to select the right bracket and providing details on where to bend the bracket and by how much.
- Visualise the result so the customer can see the completed bracket as properly bent and also visualised on the motor end bell. Due to the simple nature of the bracket, the visualisation can be accomplished using SVG and combining simple visual objects to build the entire bracket in the correct bent geometry.
Information on the geometry for all bracket types would be provided in a spreadsheet that could be pulled into a database, brought in through a text file, or even hard coded. I am looking for an individual interested in building this application, requiring skills in coding, spreadsheets, and graphic manipulation. A good understanding of the product and its application is essential.
Any AI coding tool (we use ChatGPT here) would be able to make quick work of this for the individual who understands the overall architecture of the application. The product can be seen on our website.
When applying, please provide both your hourly rate and an estimate of the cost to build this application. Generic, AI-generated responses will be ignored. Please review the product and the documentation around the product prior to submitting a proposal.
The successful applicant will have an excellent command of the English language and be able to meet during normal North American business hours with video conferencing. Contract duration is 3 to 6 months, with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: JavaScript, Python, Microsoft Excel, UI Graphics, SVG, Web Application Development, .NET Framework.
