We are looking for a new logo and colour scheme for a Finnish defence startup. Our company is a Finland based high-tech defence company that builds a next generation situation awareness platform for both civil and military use. The platform allows its users to monitor their surroundings with a wide variety of data sources, such as cameras, drones and other sensors.
The company is renewing its brand and the key task in this process is redesign of the logo. The current logo is not suitable for the company going forward. The new logo should consist of two parts: a mark describing planet earth protected/surveiled by a dome and the name of the company written all caps in serif font. The primary colour of the logo is deep blue, as in the Finnish flag.
However, it needs to be stated that the company must not be confused with Finnish state or official instances; the logo should be inspired by them instead of copying from them. Besides white and deep blue, a set of colours should be defined to be used in slide decks and website. They should have proper WCAG AA level contrast against black, blue and other dark colours, or white and other bright colours.
The assignment does not include designing website or slide deck templates, but the logo should be shown in real context including digital and physical form (banners, flags, etc.) so that its usability can be verified. The potential clients of the company include defence forces of various nations and companies owning, operating or protecting high-value infrastructure, such as electricity networks, airports, harbours, etc.
The brand needs to show/resonate trustworthiness, clarity and technological advancement without showing those explicitly. It needs to work both in military and corporate environments and resonate with decision makers.
In practical terms, we need the following versions of the logo: colour, monochrome, black, white in both vector and bitmap format.
Contract duration of less than 1 month.
Mandatory skills: Logo Design, Brand Identity & Guidelines, Corporate Brand Identity, Brand Positioning, Graphic Design
