I am commissioning a custom tattoo-ready illustration. This is a design-only project — my local tattoo artist will execute the tattoo. I am looking for a skilled illustrator experienced in clean linework, body flow, and tattoo translation.

Concept (Phase 1 of 2): This is the first piece of a long-term dual-dragon back concept. For now, I want one Japanese-inspired dragon placed on one side of my upper back. The design must stand alone beautifully, while also being intentionally structured so a second dragon can be added later on the opposite side in a cohesive way. The long-term vision is two dragons representing elemental duality — Fire and Air — but this phase focuses on one dragon that subtly carries that energy while allowing future expansion.

Style Direction:

  • Japanese-inspired dragon (elegant, not cartoonish)
  • Modern minimal approach
  • Strong movement and vertical flow
  • Clean, confident linework
  • Not inside a circle or frame
  • Not heavy traditional irezumi

I am 5'10 and the design will be placed on my upper back. Scale is flexible — composition and flow matter more than strict size.

Symbolism (refined, not overpowering):

  • Elemental energy (Fire and Air)
  • Hecate archetype influence
  • Triple moon symbol (subtle integration)
  • Wildflowers incorporated (not cherry blossoms)
  • Potential light sacred geometry integration (very subtle, not dominant)
  • Feminine + powerful + duality theme

Even though this is Phase 1, the structure should allow future expansion into a balanced two-dragon composition where Fire and Air feel intentional together.

Execution Notes: The design should primarily function as strong blackwork with clean contrast and line integrity. Optional subtle accent colour (small hints of deep red or blue) may be suggested, but the design must work beautifully in pure black ink. My tattoo artist will handle final application and any light shading adjustments, so structural clarity and silhouette are more important than heavy colour rendering.

Deliverables:

  • High-resolution PNG (300 DPI minimum)
  • Vector file preferred (AI or SVG)
  • Blackwork primary version
  • 2–3 revision rounds included

Please include relevant tattoo-ready linework samples and dragon or mythic illustration work in your proposal. I am looking for someone who understands composition, symbolism, and how designs translate to skin.

Contract duration of less than 1 month.

Mandatory skills: Tattoo Design, line art, Adobe Illustrator, Drawing, Illustration.
