I need a clean 2-D retaining wall drawing set (PDF + source file if possible) based on the attached photos/markup.
Project overview:
- Structure: 10 ft x 20 ft greenhouse (shown in photos). Material is Versa-lok sandstone block.
- I want a retaining wall layout + steps that matches the red outline in my marked-up photos. And a landing at the bottom with a small stone edging around the bottom wall for easy lawn maintenance.
- The blue line in my markup represents the drainage location/path I want shown correctly per best practice.
Wall layout (match the red markup):
- Wall runs: 1. Across the front of the greenhouse (door side), 2. Down the right side, 3. Across the back.
- The front includes steps centered at the door with a small landing at the bottom of the steps (landing at grade).
- Target wall height: highest point approx. 24–30 inches (2' to 2-1/2'). Other areas may taper down with grade—use your judgement and standard practice.
Steps + landing intent:
- Steps lead from existing grade up to the greenhouse door area.
- I want the drawing to show:
- Step/landing footprint in plan view,
- Number of steps / riser count based on your recommended assumptions,
- Recommended step width (generally matching the door zone / comfortable access). Width is 32". Length is 6-8ft.
Drainage requirements (match the blue concept, but design it correctly):
- Please show a proper retaining wall drainage approach for this height, including:
- Drain stone zone behind wall (clean rock),
- Filter fabric/geotextile separation (so fines don’t clog stone),
- 4" perforated drain pipe at the base behind the wall (with proper slope),
- Outlet/daylight location at the lowest practical point (or alternate discharge method if daylight isn’t realistic),
- Cleanouts (recommended locations),
- If you recommend weep outlets or specific details, include them.
What I need as deliverables:
- Plan view (top-down) with the wall/steps/landing footprint and key dimensions labeled.
- Front elevation (showing max height area and step relationship).
- Typical wall cross-section detail showing base, embedment, block, cap, drainage stone, pipe, fabric, and backfill layers.
- A short assumptions/notes section listing any measurements you had to assume from photos and what field dimensions you want me to confirm.
Notes:
- The photos show the general grade and the exact shape I’m after. Please adjust anything as needed to make it structurally and practically correct for a ~24–30" retaining wall with steps.
- If you need a few exact field measurements to finalize scale (door width, exact step width preference, exact wall lengths, etc.), tell me what you need and I’ll provide them.
