We are looking for a skilled 2D illustrator for a "Farm vs. Slimes" mobile strategy game. The art direction is "Premium Casual", similar to Clash Royale, Plants vs. Zombies 2, or Kingdom Rush.
THE STYLE
- View: Top-Down 3/4 Orthographic (RPG View).
- Technique: Hand-drawn vector style or super-clean raster.
- Details: Bold black outlines (variable width), sharp cel-shading (no soft airbrushing), and vibrant colors.
THE JOB
You will be creating game assets (Environment props, farm-related weapon props, slime enemies) based on rough sketches, sample images, and descriptions.
REQUIREMENTS (Please Read Carefully)
- Source Files: You must deliver layered .PSD files. We check for layer separation (Lines, Flats, Shadows, Highlights). Flattened images generated by AI tools (Midjourney, DALL-E, etc.) will be rejected immediately.
- Game Ready: Assets must have clean edges and be centered on a transparent background. You must separate movable parts (e.g., Head, Torso, Arms) onto their own layers and paint the blind spots so joints can rotate without gaps. (Note: No actual animation is required, only the art setup.)
SELECTION PROCESS
We will select candidates for a small Paid Art Test (1 Prop). If the quality matches our style guide, we will move to a larger milestone contract.
No Agencies: We are looking for an individual freelancer. If you are an agency project manager, please do not apply.
HOW TO APPLY
Please attach 2-3 examples from your portfolio that specifically match the Kingdom Rush or PvZ style (or come close). Start your cover letter with the word "PUMPKIN" to confirm you have read the requirements regarding AI and source files.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months, with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Game Art, 2D Game Art, Mobile Game, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Illustration.
