Hoare Lea is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary engineering team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work on significant and technically challenging building services projects across Scotland and the wider UK. The Glasgow office delivers projects across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, residential, science, research, and mission-critical developments.
You will play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical engineering solutions, working closely with clients, architects, and project partners from concept through to project completion.
- Take ownership of electrical engineering delivery on smaller projects or lead the electrical discipline on larger multidisciplinary schemes.
- Develop electrical design concepts, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Produce detailed design packages, drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and design teams to interpret and develop project briefs.
- Work closely with engineers from other disciplines to ensure coordinated building services design.
- Manage workload effectively while reporting progress, risks, and deliverables to the project leadership team.
- Participate in design meetings, client discussions, and project reviews.
- Delegate tasks to junior engineers and review work for technical accuracy and quality.
- Support internal quality assurance procedures and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer delivering building services projects within a consultancy environment. Strong technical knowledge of electrical building systems design. Experience using modern design and digital tools such as Revit/BIM platforms and Electrical OM or similar electrical design software. Ability to build strong relationships with clients, architects, project managers, and contractors. A proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused approach to engineering.
