The Role

Freehaus is looking for an exceptional Senior Associate to join our team at an exciting stage in the studio’s growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong project-leading experience, particularly in leading multi-disciplinary teams on public-facing projects, and will be ambitious, rigorous in delivery, and ready to make a meaningful impact in the next stage of their career. Our studio is currently delivering the refurbishment of 639 Tottenham High Road for social enterprise The Trampery, a multi-use community hub at Upper Lighthorne, a number of GLA Good Growth Fund projects, and residential and workplace schemes across the country. The successful candidate will work on the largest, highest-profile project in the office, with oversight of other projects and support from the management team.

Salary: £60k-£65k per annum

Location: 12-18 Hoxton Street, London, N1 6NG

Hours: This role is on a full-time, permanent contract and is based on a 40-hour work week, from 9am-6pm. We offer flexible work options, such as variable start/end times.

Essential experience:

  • ARB registration
  • 10 years + post Part III experience
  • Job running experience across all RIBA Stage 0-7 stages
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with ability to develop and communicate project strategy and vision to internal and external teams
  • Contract administration experience and excellent working knowledge of construction contracts, particularly experience with NEC contracts
  • Robust experience of fee writing and job winning
  • Confident in client facing and community stakeholder engagement roles
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholder clients
  • Strong understanding in construction details and building regulation compliance
  • Skilled at Revit and able to mentor others
  • Able to demonstrate experience in leading a larger multi-disciplinary design team
  • Able to demonstrate business and financial acumen, proficiency in using project management software
  • Fresh Projects a plus
  • The ability to contribute to broader practice ambitions through a strategic lens, such as policies, QA, and sustainability initiatives

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of working to ISO19650 standards, ensuring compliance with naming conventions and standards across project teams
  • Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud for document issuing and Cemar is desirable but not essential
