We are seeking a caring and reliable SEN Home Help to support a welcoming family in Guildford. This is a part-time, term-time-only position supporting two children aged 9 and 12, one of whom has additional needs. The role involves assisting with light household duties and providing attentive care and support to the children after school until their parents return home.
Working hours: Tuesdays, 1:30pm – 4:30pm (term time only)
Rate of pay: £16.50 per hour
Start date: Ideally end of April
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the family’s evening meal
- Carry out light household duties (cleaning, laundry, tidying)
- Welcome the youngest child home from transport and provide support and care
- Greet the older child returning from school
- Prepare snacks for both children
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment until the parents return
About You:
- Experience working with children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) is essential
- Knowledge or understanding of PDA, Autism, and ADHD
- Warm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Reliable and punctual
- Available to work Tuesdays during term time
- Full UK driving licence required
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) preferred
