Freedom Group have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our Network Services team based in Wakefield.
This hybrid role offers the chance to lead and shape the operational delivery of multiple contracts, ensuring performance, safety, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved and exceeded.
You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the business operates as a profitable and sustainable organisation with a strong focus on Zero Harm and client excellence.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include
- Ensure regional operational performance is maintained and exceeded across all contracts.
- Lead the delivery of long-term contracts in line with company policies and client expectations.
- Oversee project delivery and coordination, supporting the wider networks team.
- Manage incident reporting and escalation processes.
- Lead recruitment and performance of site teams and supplier operations.
- Ensure client satisfaction and achievement of all contract KPIs.
- Champion SHEQ and Safety Rule compliance, promoting a Zero Harm culture.
- Provide technical and quality management support across all operational activities.
- Lead staff management, retention, and development initiatives.
- Support financial planning and forecasting in collaboration with the Operations Director.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong background in civil engineering and operational management. Ideally, you’ll have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, building, or civils-related roles.
- HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (Degree preferred).
- Demonstrable experience delivering civil engineering projects.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent understanding of client requirements and contract delivery.
- Proven ability in problem-solving and negotiations.
- NEBOSH Level Safety Accreditation.
