Summary
The role is to operationally manage/complete 11kV & 33kV SAP duties on the UKPN DNP&P contract, delivering all work activities including OH & UG network reinforcement, diversions, and new connections while adhering to safety regulations, quality standards, project specifications, and timelines. The role reports to the Operations Manager / Portfolio Manager.
Key deliverables include:
- Operationally deliver multiple projects safely, competently, and effectively to schedule;
- Provide guidance to team members to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations;
- Complete network feasibility studies with minimal customer interruption;
- Adhere to and promote safety rules and procedures;
- Liaise with third-party network operators for smooth project implementation;
- Maintain site safety and complete risk assessments;
- Report SHE concerns to the SHE team;
- Ensure all statutory records, certificates, licences, notifications, and notices are maintained;
- Complete test documents and asset registrations.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Substantial experience with SAP duties;
- Knowledge of distribution substation equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards;
- Knowledge of overhead networks;
- Experience with switchgear, substation, and asset replacement works;
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices and their practical application;
- CDM knowledge;
- HNC or higher qualification;
- Safety-related certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS;
- NRSWA accreditation.
