Freedom's Professional Services team are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in a flexible hybrid working home, London or Leeds. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role supports the business unit by managing the contractual and financial elements of tenders and projects within the unit, ensuring successful P&L, cash flow and commercial performance across several frameworks. The role also provides commercial support and advice to Work Winning and other functions, assists the Commercial Manager in preparing regional management accounts, and contributes to contract reviews.
Key Deliverables
- Contract management of multiple contracts under NEC3/4, JCT & bespoke contracts.
- Proficient in taking off quantities and producing detailed SMM7 Measured Bills using BQ software.
- Measurement and valuation of works for applications, variations and final accounts with both clients and suppliers.
- Identification & notification of Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
- Ensure all contracts, up and down supply chain, are appropriate and robust.
- Provide cash flow forecasts.
- Create and manage CVRs.
- Establish and chair monthly project reviews.
- Manage dispute and defects process with the client and subcontractors.
- Attend client progress meetings.
- Follow procedures for client work approval.
- Manage invoicing and debts.
- Effective communication with all levels of personnel.
- Supply chain management.
- Provide innovative ideas and continuous improvement.
- Support development of the wider commercial team across Freedom's Network Services business.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role â essential.
- Wellâdeveloped understanding of various contract forms, particularly NEC3/4, and the ability to apply these skills practically to live projects â essential.
- Experience managing client services for civil and structural projects in the power sector and/or HV electrical projects â desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of the Transmission and Distribution marketplace or other relevant energy sectors â desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of working within key client sector markets.
