Summary

Freedom Networks is looking for a Chargehand Linesperson for a field-based role. The main purpose is to lead and work as part of a team involved in challenging overhead line projects constructing and replacing outdated networks. There is also opportunity for career development.

Location: Basildon, Essex

Responsibilities include:

  1. Erect poles, change transformers, and perform other overhead line tasks.
  2. Construct, maintain, and replace overhead electrical networks up to 33kV.
  3. Follow standards, policies, and procedures of Freedom and its clients.
  4. Lead by example and undertake works safely.
  5. Participate in risk assessments and review safety conditions.
  6. Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
  7. Install and construct overhead electricity networks to standards.
  8. Report unsafe conditions and mentor team members.
  9. Maintain and develop own competence and ensure safety at all times.
  10. Adhere to safety policies and report concerns.
  11. Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience as a linesperson, including work on dead networks and live LV working.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a risk-averse attitude.
  • Full driving license, IPAF accreditation (training available), NRSWA Operative.
  • Ability to interact politely with the public.
