Freedom Leisure, a leading charitable leisure trust across England and Wales, is recruiting a Duty Manager for one of our leisure centres. The role will support the delivery of a wide range of services and ensure customers receive an excellent experience.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday‑Sunday (rota basis)

Salary: up to £26,834 per annum

Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage, develop and motivate a team of operational staff
  • Be responsible for day‑to‑day duty management and running of the leisure centre to the highest standard
  • Contribute to and understand the business and budgetary performance of the centre
  • Be a proactive member of the leisure centre team, providing ideas and suggestions
  • Coordinate the planning and organisation of events and activities for the centre
  • Make decisions with autonomy and respond swiftly to variable demands
  • Assist customers, ensuring their safety and satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with team members and senior management
  • Maintain and enhance the quality of customer service delivered at the centre
  • Support the achievement of quality and safety objectives
  • Make professional contributions that will genuinely improve people’s lives through leisure

Qualifications: (training may be provided)

  • Enhanced DBS check required
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for the leisure industry
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Capacity to work flexibly, with a high level of decision‑making confidence
