Are you passionate about helping people lead healthier, more active lives? We are looking for a Healthy Communities Activities Coach to join our team and deliver a wide range of fun, inclusive activities that make a real difference in the community. You will lead sessions for both small and large groups, working across diverse sporting and physical activities to inspire participation and improve wellbeing.
As part of the Healthy Communities Team, you will work closely with the Healthy Communities Manager to support community development initiatives and help increase engagement in line with local strategies and stakeholder needs. You will also assist with identifying funding opportunities to grow and enhance our programmes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering Healthy Communities programmes across Brighton & Hove sites
- Leading and facilitating a variety of sporting and physical activities for different community groups
- Working with groups and individuals to inspire them to lead more active and healthy lifestyles
- Support specific health projects and adapt working hours and locations to meet community needs

Hours: 6 hours a week
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience with leading and facilitating physical activity sessions to a diverse audience of differing abilities
- An advocate for the health benefits that physical activity can bring to individuals
- The ability to work independently but also part of a wider team across the City
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build rapport with participants from different backgrounds
- Administration skills to enable candidate to capture impact and participation reports
- Mobility to travel across the city
- Excellent time management skills
- A self-starter who inspires others with their passion and energy
- The ability to work flexible hours, this might include evenings, weekends and public holidays
Desirable:
- Sport coaching qualification to National Governing Body Level 2
- Safeguarding & Child Protection, First Aid
- Experience or working in a sports development-based role
- Level 3 Personal Training
- Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification
- Ability to capture media and story tell to show impact of local services
