The Marina Centre is a vibrant facility offering everything from a leisure pool with slides and splash zone, to a state-of-the-art gym, sports hall, and beachside café. Our café is a key community hub — a space to refuel, relax, and connect — and we’re looking for a Catering Assistant to help us keep it running smoothly.
About The Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of our front-of-house and kitchen team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Barista service – preparing high-quality hot and cold drinks to order
- Cooking and food prep – assisting with the preparation of fresh food and light meals
- Customer service – greeting and serving customers in a friendly, efficient manner
- Till operation – handling transactions, taking orders, and promoting offers
- Cleaning and hygiene – ensuring all kitchen, café and vending areas are clean, safe and hygienic
- Opening and closing – helping to set up and close down café operations, including stock checks and equipment cleaning
- Vending and pot wash – maintaining vending machines, dishwashing and ensuring all crockery and utensils are cleaned and stored correctly
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and takes pride in their work. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a café, kitchen or catering environment
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Basic food hygiene knowledge (although full training is provided)
- Willingness to learn and work flexibly as part of a team
Hours: Casual hours, as and when required.
