About the role
You’ll lead and facilitate a wide range of fun, inclusive sporting and physical activities for community groups, inspiring participation and improving wellbeing. You’ll work closely with the Healthy Communities Manager to support community development initiatives, increase engagement, and identify funding opportunities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver Healthy Communities programmes across Brighton & Hove sites.
- Lead and facilitate a variety of sporting and physical activities for different community groups.
- Work with groups and individuals to inspire them to lead more active and healthy lifestyles.
- Support specific health projects and adapt working hours and locations to meet community needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with leading and facilitating physical activity sessions to a diverse audience of differing abilities.
- Advocate for the health benefits that physical activity can bring to individuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team across the city.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to build rapport with participants from different backgrounds.
- Administration skills to capture impact and participation reports.
- Mobility to travel across the city.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Self-starter who inspires others with passion and energy.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Desirable qualifications:
- Sport coaching qualification to National Governing Body Level 2.
- Safeguarding & Child Protection, First Aid.
- Experience in a sports development-based role.
- Level 3 Personal Training.
- Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification.
- Ability to capture media and tell stories to show the impact of local services.
