Freedom is currently recruiting a Designated Electrical Engineer responsible for all aspects of the company\’s High-Voltage electrical procedures and processes. As an Independent Connection Provider, the post holder will also be the company representative and point of contact with NERs.
This senior role will have authority over the wider division\’s HV procedures and processes, ensuring documents are maintained and developed to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance and oversee High Voltage operational practices within the NG Bailey Freedom Group.
- Implement the Divisional electricity safety management system.
- Apply the High Voltage Electrical Safety rules and associated procedures.
- Undertake the Designated Engineer duties under the NG Bailey Freedom Group High Voltage Electrical Safety rules.
- Review and update electrical risk assessments and method statements to ensure legislative compliance.
- Chair and lead the Electrical Governance Board.
- Ensure NERS compliance and represent the company during audits.
- Lead incident investigations related to electricity and participate in post-incident reviews.
- Chair and lead the Electrical Critical Risk Group for competencies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years\’ experience in a similar operational role within a DNO/NGET as an Assessing Officer and Senior Authorised Person.
- Chartered Electrical Engineer.
- Strong experience managing Private Network/DNO relationships.
- Excellent understanding of end-user DNO and private client power and maintenance requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships across organizational levels.
- Proven ability to understand, articulate, and resolve technical issues with stakeholders.
- NEBOSH Level Safety accreditation (preferable).
