Freedom\’s Network Services team is seeking a Senior Design Engineer specializing in Earthing to join an established team and contribute immediately.
We are expanding due to increasing workload and need someone with an Engineering background in Earthing to handle our growing project portfolio, producing drawing packages and reports as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and leading technically demanding projects.
- Leading all types of earthing projects from inception to completion independently, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Maintaining strong client relationships through good commercial awareness.
- Mentoring and guiding Design, Assistant, and Graduate Engineers.
- Possessing detailed knowledge of high voltage earthing design and proficiency with CDEGS software (MALZ, MALT, RESAP).
- Conducting studies within CDEGS software, including HI-FREQ, FCDIST, TRALIN, etc.
- Performing complex studies such as impressed voltage assessments.
- Attending and leading design team meetings via Teams or in person.
- Providing engineering solutions to site-based problems through TQ/RFI processes.
- Reviewing and authorizing earthing reports and drawings, offering technical feedback.
- Conducting site visits for earthing assessments, design commissioning, and investigations after failures.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree qualification is desirable; HNC/HND is essential.
- Autonomous with minimal supervision required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with CDEGS is advantageous.
- Desirable to have knowledge of lightning protection risk assessments and design.
