Freedom Group has a fantastic opportunity for a Project Buyer to join their team in Leeds or London, with potential for hybrid working. Reporting to the Procurement Manager (Connections), this role supports current projects and assists with new tenders. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial team and cover both Direct and Indirect categories, including Sub-Contractors, Civils, Utilities, Cabling, Switchgears, Transformers, etc.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating pricing and lead times to secure the best value for the company
- Managing supply chains and engaging suppliers to maximize value
- Collaborating with operational and commercial teams to ensure timely sourcing and delivery
- Working with operational teams to ensure subcontractors and suppliers meet contract requirements and deliver value
- Handling daily operational queries to meet project targets and service level agreements
Candidate requirements:
We seek candidates with project-based procurement experience, confidence, and drive. Ideally, you will be CIPS qualified or willing to obtain relevant qualifications. Experience should include:
- Managing project procurement spends and purchasing key materials
- Experience in both direct and indirect procurement
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to support colleagues across different sectors
- Market understanding and reactive capability
- Willingness to travel within the UK as needed
