Freedom\’s Professional Services is seeking a Design Engineer with a cabling specialization to join our team in East Kilbride, supporting growth within Scotland.
This role involves designing, drawing, and calculating projects, collaborating with the wider Design team, and conducting site visits for surveys and data collection as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting Principal & Senior Design Engineers in delivering complex projects.
- Performing calculations and creating drawings for various cabling projects from concept to detailed design, mostly independently, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Maintaining good commercial awareness, working closely with clients and the FPS team to foster strong relationships through regular communication.
- Mentoring and guiding Assistant and Graduate Engineers.
- Possessing detailed knowledge of cable system and routing design, including proficiency in AutoCAD and CYMCAP software.
- Supporting Principal/Senior Engineers on complex engineering issues like SEDs.
- Participating in design team meetings and presenting technical questions via Teams or in person.
- Providing engineering solutions for site problems through TQ/RFI processes.
- Conducting site visits for routing surveys and assessments confidently.

- A degree is desirable; HNC/HND qualifications are essential.
- Ability to follow guidance with a willingness to learn and develop.
