About Freedman

At Freedman, we help ambitious brands scale across borders. For over 30 years, we’ve partnered with some of the world’s most innovative companies — including Meta, Fitbit, Oatly, IHG, and Klarna — helping them deliver global campaigns that feel locally authentic. Our vision is to be the world’s most trusted partner for brands going global — where exceptional service makes the impossible feel inevitable.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an aspiring Business Development Director with a background in global advertising to accelerate our expansion across EMEA. You’ve got 5 -7 years of experience and are ready to step up into the new role. This is a relationship-led, commercially focused role — perfect for someone who knows how to turn conversations into connections, and connections into opportunities. You’ll represent Freedman within the marketing audiences, engage CMOs, Heads of Marketing, and agency leaders, and position Freedman as the go-to partner for global campaign execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the Pipeline (70%)
    • Sponsor or attend key industry events — from major conferences to specialist meet-ups
    • Host quarterly roundtables and networking sessions with senior marketing leaders
    • Generate qualified opportunities across the sector
    • Nurture relationships across your target accounts, engaging multiple senior stakeholders
    • Maintain strong connections with key prospects and partners
  • Grow Our Partner Ecosystem
    • Build partnerships with consultants, PR, creative, and production agencies
    • Co-host events and develop referral partnerships
    • Deliver opportunities from your agency network
  • Operational Excellence
    • Collaborate with the Growth Manager to strategically cover your sectors
    • Work closely with Marketing to inform sector-specific content and campaigns
    • Keep HubSpot data and dashboards current
    • Share market intelligence and help refine Freedman’s go-to-market strategy
    • Additional responsibilities as reasonably required to perform your role

What Success Looks Like

  • Year 1:
  • Introductory meetings
  • Qualified opportunities passed to Head of Growth
  • Partner relationships actively generating referrals
  • Events attended or sponsored
  • Senior roundtables hosted
  • Building reputation within the sector

About You

You’re a natural connector with a commercial drive. You enjoy turning insights into opportunities and thrive on building trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders.

Experience

  • 5 - 7 years in business development, partnerships, or client relationship roles
  • Proven success engaging senior marketing leaders (CMO, Head of Marketing)
  • Experience using events and networking as a core growth channel

Skills and Attributes

  • Outstanding communicator — confident in conversations, on stage, or over dinner
  • Organised, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Consultative approach — persuasive without being pushy
  • Curious, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Resilient and disciplined in follow-up and relationship nurturing
  • Genuinely curious about people and their challenges

Bonus Points

  • Network in technology sectors
  • Agency-side experience or background in marketing/comms
  • Additional European languages (Nordic, German, or Dutch)
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM
