We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Trade Labourer (Damp, Mould and Disrepair)! You will play a key role in supporting our Damp and Mould Team, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards, and delivering a customer-focused service that improves living conditions for our residents.
Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across West and North Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. Outline of key responsibilities:
- Remove damaged materials and carry out strip-out works in properties affected by damp and mould, ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant procedures.
- Clean, sanitise, and prepare affected areas to prevent further contamination and support effective remediation.
- Apply anti-mould treatments in accordance with industry best practice, organisational standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Undertake minor repairs associated with condensation control and mould prevention, including basic maintenance and remedial works.
- Install, monitor, and remove drying equipment as required, ensuring effective moisture control and keeping accurate records of progress.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A good knowledge and recognition of building materials and a basic overview of all trades.
- A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations.
- The ability to work in confined spaces.
- Excellent communication skills essential to liaise with all levels of the workforce.
- The ability to work on own initiative.
- Full valid UK driving licence.
