Positioned at the intersection of traveltech and agetech, Freebird addresses social issues such as loneliness and lack of opportunities for older adults through a tech-enabled community model. We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Community & Content Manager who is motivated by the opportunity to create real value + impact in the world. This role is crucial in fostering an engaged community, aligning content strategy with our business objectives, and managing our social media presence across various platforms. You will join a small, growing team in a fast-paced, supportive start-up, with lots of opportunities to partake in strategic and operational initiatives.
This role is a rare opportunity to join an exciting new venture in its early growth stage. As Community & Content Manager, you will play a key role in building and nurturing the foundations of the global Freebird community. You will work closely with the founders and growth/marketing team to develop community strategy, promote engagement, implement initiatives and improve community related features over time.
The role requires intense curiosity and drive for building interest, engagement and trust across the whole Freebird community. The role will entail developing a clear strategy for growing and managing the community, and include a data and results-based approach to measuring the quantitative and qualitative health of Freebird Club’s community relations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan and strategy for community engagement, on our platform, social media and other channels.
- Connect deeply with our community. Proactively engage with and respond to community members, ensuring a positive and supportive environment, acting as a point of contact for member relations.
- Facilitate and moderate discussions and content, responding to community inquiries and feedback.
- Work with existing systems, platforms, and channels to enhance community interaction and satisfaction.
- Track and analyse member engagement. This includes collecting data on the frequency of interactions, messages, social media engagement and more.
- Plan, manage, and host online events to foster community spirit and interaction.
- Coordinate in-person group meet-ups among members.
- Develop relationships with related organisations and influencers in positive ageing – helping to position Freebird as a key player in the silver economy.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in healthy ageing; includes reading industry news, following thought leaders in the field, attending occasional industry events.
- Take ownership of the content strategy, ensuring it meets marketing and business goals.
- Lead on content creation and communications, including website, blogs, email campaigns, events, webinars, newsletters.
- Align content creation with company objectives and business needs.
- Create and repurpose content for multiple channels, including Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Manage and grow the company’s presence on key social media platforms.
- Develop and execute social media campaigns that drive engagement and brand awareness.
- Utilize image creation tools such as Canva to produce visually appealing content.
- Employ email marketing tools to communicate effectively with our community.
- 4+ years experience in community management, with proven ability to develop and execute engagement strategies.
- Ability to think strategically and take ownership of community and content management initiatives.
- Strong understanding of content strategy and the ability to create content that aligns with business objectives.
- Experience in planning, managing, and hosting online events.
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and possibly TikTok.
- Ability to repurpose content for multiple channels to maximize reach and engagement.
- Familiarity with email marketing tools, and image creation tools such as Canva.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A real “people” person. Positive and progressive in all interactions.
- Superior organisational skills; ability to monitor and facilitate communication across multiple channels.
