Our Marketing Platform Team's mission is to make it easier to sell FreeAgent. This includes innovating across our marketing website at www.freeagent.com and our complex Salesforce instance. We ensure our many internal stakeholders can deliver ambitious results by managing a large number of connected technologies.

The role
A senior member of the FreeAgent Salesforce administrator team you will be responsible for helping to develop, support and maintain our instance of Salesforce Sales Cloud and related systems. You will take on a leadership role in helping to architect new features, ensuring they are optimised for both performance and scale. You will work closely with stakeholders such as sales and marketing to define and deliver against objectives. You will maintain and help evolve best practices within the Salesforce administrator team, ensuring high standards and security.
Responsibilities
- Plan and analyse business context and requirements to deliver work that underpins the team, department and company strategy.
- Use knowledge of application and domain constraints to lead on the design, test and release of substantial features and changes to meet stakeholder requirements and optimise automated business processes.
- Collaborate with other admins and stakeholders to break down complex engineering problems into deliverable chunks.
- Communicate decisions within the team and to stakeholders early and often, building relationships across all areas of the business.
- Test, implement and maintain Salesforce integrations and third‑party applications such as Chili Piper, On24, Adobe, etc.
- Provide support and point of escalation for product teams using the Salesforce platform, helping the team resolve complex questions from stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and drive forward high standards for security across all aspects of the Salesforce instance and integrations.
- Lead cross‑team collaboration to share knowledge across all platform users ranging from sales to marketing, data and finance, website engineering and user research.
- Implement solutions and make recommendations that reflect a deep understanding of Salesforce data structures that enable data input and creation of complex reports and dashboards.
- Support less experienced administrators with skill and knowledge growth, through a rigorous peer review process.
- Lead on solutions during Salesforce incidents, communicating, documenting and fixing.
- Support Marketing Cloud super users with data queries or functional queries.
Qualifications
- Strong hands‑on experience with Salesforce Sales and Marketing Cloud.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications and maintaining integrations.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis, including custom reporting within Salesforce.com and custom reporting objects.
- Experience maintaining a complex Salesforce organisation (large number of users, sophisticated sharing model, integrations, or use of advanced features).
- Experience maintaining and customising the Salesforce organisation using best practices, including automation, record types vs. page layouts.
- Experience handling incidents and maintaining security standards.
- Strong project management skills and ability to implement a robust development cycle to specify, plan, implement, test and release new changes to the platform.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to train others in how to use the system, tailoring the training to each individual or user role.
- Experience supporting less experienced administrators.
Work Pattern
This is a temporary full‑time role (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). The role will be based in our Edinburgh office, with an agreed hybrid pattern of 2 days in the office and 3 days at home each week.
Benefits
This is a temporary role covering approximately 12 months of maternity leave. Salary will be within the band £51,000 – £55,000 per annum.
