Practice Partnerships Consultant Department: Sales Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract Location: Edinburgh Compensation: £35,000 – £42,000 / year Description FreeAgent provides UK online accounting software made specifically for freelancers, small business owners and their accountants. As a Practice Partnerships Consultant at FreeAgent you’ll be a key member of a cross-functional team that supports and engages with our practice integration partners to ensure they get the very best from their partnership with FreeAgent. You’ll shape and develop the playbook for ongoing partnerships with practice integration partners, working closely with sales, comms and product to ensure we get the best from our integrations partnerships. You’ll be comfortable with ownership and reacting quickly to an opportunity as this is a new role, it will be challenging but very rewarding to build out partnerships where there haven’t been any previously. This role will primarily focus on shaping and developing the partnerships with our existing practice integration partners. It will also support the development of new integration partnerships and ensure that all these partnerships are promoted to our partner base. This will comprise 70% of the role. This role will also serve to support the Senior Digital Enablement Manager in additional duties around thought leadership. This will include events, smaller speaking engagements (both in person and digital), events and other projects as they arise. This area of the role will comprise 30% of duties and balance to suit both the needs of the department and the interests of the Practice Partnerships Consultant. There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in a range of projects. This role would suit someone with previous experience in relationship building and a good knowledge of the cloud accounting landscape. This person needs to be very comfortable creating new relationships and building something new. The Role Maintain and grow existing relationships with the key practice integration partners with a focus on driving broader adoption of these integrations as a key feature A key part of this will be keeping all important integrations up to date with a regular cadence of updates while recognising that timelines will ultimately be driven by the partner themselves Owning existing and establishing new conversations with potential practice integration partners, supporting them through building to our API Ensuring we are in the best position to deliver thought leadership in conjunction with practice integration partnerships Supporting the sales team with advice, insight and knowledge around practice integration partners Supporting awareness campaigns for new or relaunched practice integration partners, while helping expand the regular cadence of marketing efforts with existing partners Be open to supporting non-technical partnerships (AIR, App Advisory) through area such as as social presence, coaching partners on adopting our tech stack and building our presence in the market place Depending on the background you bring, especially if you have strong industry experience or have worked in practice, you could contribute to sales enablement, smaller talks (e.g. FAB, ICB, ACX Virtual), webinars and more. We’re happy to shape this part of the role around the strengths you bring Support management in identifying and progressing commercial opportunities You Be ready to follow established processes while identifying opportunities for improvement Take ownership of existing relationships and help build stronger connections with key partners Ideally come from an account management background, bringing confidence and resilience to relationship management to help keep third parties on track and progress moving Be confident with, and have experience of, presenting (virtually and in person) Have good grounding in knowledge of the cloud accounting industry Be creative and solution oriented Be comfortable working remotely with autonomy Have some background knowledge of an accounting practice environment Be comfortable establishing relationships and working cross functionally Be a team player Be a self starter. Work pattern for this role This is a fixed term contract, on a full time basis (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) until the 31st December 2025. This role can be based remotely within the UK, and if you are in the Edinburgh area there will be an opportunity to adopt hybrid working, under an agreed pattern of 2 days from the office and 3 days at home each week. Working from home is second nature to us as we have been championing remote for years. Perks Annual starting salary of £35,000 – £40,000 per annum depending on experience, with room to progress to £42,000 within the band. Salary bands are linked to performance expectations, to help nurture our culture of learning as well as fairness. A starting salary would likely leave some opportunity for growth within the band.
